Treatment of lily pads in Control Areas A-1 and A-2 is scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Here is the LINK for the treatment map.

The herbicide Imazamox will be applied to the lily pads. This herbicide travels down to and kills the tubers so they do not regrow. Affected plants will stop growing soon after treatment, and plant decomposition will occur over several weeks.

Post-Treatment Water Use Restrictions

There are no post-treatment restrictions on fishing, swimming, domestic use, or livestock watering.

Impacts on Fish and Other Aquatic Organisms

Since the mechanism of action involves an enzyme that isn’t found in animals, Imazamox has low toxicity to animals. Imazamox is rated practically non-toxic to freshwater fish and invertebrates and does not bioaccumulate (the process by which chemicals in the environment or in a food source are taken up by plants or animals) in fish tissues. Imazamox is also practically non-toxic to birds and mammals.

Here is a LINK to the fact sheet about Imazamox with more details.
