We will be doing Lake Weed Surveys monthly from May through September. Our first Lake Survey will be on May 13th. Rick Durkin will be our Boat Captain and Barry Halverson from Lake Lawrence will be our experienced leader. We did our first Lake Weed Survey last September 2023. Using a GPS we will return to the same locations for this season’s monthly surveys.

This VIDEO from Lake Lawrence shows how to do a Aquatic Vegetation Lake Survey. The Lake Lawrence Management District Steering Committee has been doing lake surveys for 7 years. A survey like this takes 2 to 2.5 hours. A lot of editing was done to show examples of the various methodology. The procedure for checking for weeds, lake depth and recording information was done at each test site. This procedure is not unique to Lake Lawrence. It is a standard, well recognized technique.
