In Thurston County, the Aquatic Plant and Algae Management (APAM) general permit is utilized by Lake Management Districts to manage aquatic vegetation. The APAM, alongside the County’s Integrated Pest and Vegetation Management Policy (IPMP), helps guide aquatic vegetation control and monitor vegetation density. Offut Lake, in partnership with the other LMDs in Thurston County (Pattison Lake, Long Lake and Lake Lawrence) agreed to share the annual expense of renewing this permit. Our cost for 2026 was $136.74.
