Yard Care Can Reduce Algae

Want Less Algae in our Lake?

You can help! All the herbicides, weed  killers, fertilizers and pesticides we use in our yards wash into our lake. This creates a nutrient-rich environment that promotes algae growth. Sign-up for the free, online course provided by Thurston County to learn alternatives that won’t pollute our lake. The free course is called, “Go Green Yard Care.” Here is a LINK to sign-up.

GO GREEN YARD CARE – Overview

In this course you will learn how to grow a beautiful yard without using weed and feed, quick-release fertilizers, and chemical bug and weed killers – protecting our ground and lake water AND the health of our family and pets!
