As was mentioned earlier in this newsletter, a Super El Niño weather pattern in Summer 2026 is predicted. This is a problem because warmer water increases the probability of algae blooms and reduces oxygen levels.

Our lake is considered nutrient rich and any use of chemical fertilizers only adds more nutrients as rainwater washes the fertilizers into the lake. We ask all lake residents to avoid using chemicals in their yards and gardens and encourage everyone to explore environmentally safe fertilizers to ensure we are not adding more nutrients or toxins to our lake. Also, please have your septic checked for any leakage so it doesn’t add nutrients in our lake. With everyone’s help we can keep our lake toxin free.
